The common area is cozy and well-equipped.
The walk from the train station is steep and tiring, and I regretted not taking the bus to avoid dragging my luggage up the hill. Additionally, although the futon was comfortable, the top bunk got unbearably hot due to poor airflow. It's also worth mentioning that while the staff were helpful, the overall experience felt expensive given the limited amenities.

comfortable stay with nice amenities
The common area is inviting. perfect for reading or relaxing with lovely music. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking meals, which is a big plus for guests. I particularly enjoyed the stunning mountain view while soaking in the onsen—a truly peaceful experience.
The outdoor onsen lacks shower facilities, which can be inconvenient.

The stay at Onsen Guest House Tsutaya was fantastic! The indoor and outdoor onsens truly stood out. soaking in the warm water while enjoying nature was a highlight. The common area felt very inviting, full of books and games, creating a cozy atmosphere for relaxing. I appreciated that the kitchen was well-equipped, making it easy to prepare meals. The staff were approachable and provided helpful maps for navigating Hakone. However, the bunk beds were a bit stuffy at times, especially the top bunk, which got very hot at night due to limited airflow. Also, the location has a steep walk from the train station, which might be a hassle with heavy luggage. Overall, great amenities but a few improvements could make it even better.

The stay was memorable due to the serene atmosphere and natural beauty surrounding the location, where the sounds of the river provided a peaceful backdrop from our balcony. The communal area encourages social interaction, and the kitchen is stocked with high-quality utensils for cooking, making it a great spot to unwind. However, the shower facilities could use improvement, as they were a bit inconvenient, and the outdoor onsen area felt a bit cramped during peak times.

I had such a lovely time soaking in both the peaceful indoor and serene outdoor onsens, feeling completely relaxed. The vibe in the common area was super cozy, and I really enjoyed sharing stories with fellow travelers while sipping coffee from the well-stocked kitchen. Just a heads-up, the shower facilities could be a bit more convenient, but it didn’t take away from my overall experience! 😊
